Fishing Snack:  Pepperidge farm goldfish, Pretzel logs, Cream cheese

 Dip the pretzel log into the cream cheese and then dip into the goldfish

Bug Juice:

Place large plastic bugs into the a clear juice container to make bug juice or freeze plastic bugs in the ice cube tray and use them in your juice. (Don't put small plastic bugs in their glasses: choking hazard.)

Supplies:

Stick, Scarf

Tie the scarf around the end of a stick and have the children carry their snack to the campsite outside.

Campsite

Build a campfire with kindling  wood.  Make flames out of colored construction paper. Make a circle of rocks and logs to sit on.

Set up a tent with chairs and sheets.


Fishing

Cut fish shapes out of construction paper and put a staple in the middle of each one.

Pole

Tie a string to the end of sticks with a magnet at the end of the string.

Pick up the stapled fish with your fishing pole.


Go on a nature walk and collect 5 things you might find on a camping trip.

Make a back pack out of a paper bag with 4 holes and 2 strings looped through the holes and have children carry them on their back.

Draw a map of your yard and use a compass and your map to find your way back to the campsite.  North South East West   You can discuss where the sun rises and where the sun sets.  You can use the sun to navigate where you are.

Make a sundial using a thread spool a pencil and a square piece of cardboard and mark where the shadow ends and the time every hour or so.
